1/19/2024 0 Comments Hmailserver dns blacklist![]() ![]() These are tiny companies based in countries where the cost of living is low so these costs really hit the company's profit margin. So that's the cost of 2-3 users on 365 and it's a similar story with Google too. They are currently paying about $40-50 per year on this solution. In fact the ones that are getting blacklisted send almost no email outside their own organization and when they do it's replying to the emails they have received. I know how each of these companies uses their email and since they all have their own accounts with the providers not all are getting blacklisted. Now because it's a shared hosting, there are other people using the IP too. The reason for this is, they are using a Bigrock/GoDaddy/bluebost shared hosting which comes with unlimited email accounts. They are charged a flat rate irrespective of user count. That's the thing, they aren't being charged by the user. What if the reason you're being blacklisted is because your clients are sending out spam emails? If you did this after moving to an AWS instance, why aren't you doing it now? Aren't you already using a static public IP address for your private mail server? Since we control the IP and all email accounts using the IP, can't we watch for the IP getting blacklisted and fix the reason? Honestly, in the interests of your clients, M365 is a far better option for them than your private mail server - along with services like MailChimp for marketing You must be only charging them about $1 a month per mailbox then, cause M365 is relatively cheap! If you are allowing them to do email marketing, or similar, from your mail server then no wonder your mail server is getting blacklisted! There are way better options that will allow that sort of marketing or quantity of email than a privately hosted mail server. What do you mean the unlimited emails that you are able to provide? Spoilt by the unlimited emails that the current option provides You can also end up with a "reused" IP that is already on blacklists, and it can be hell getting removed from some of them. Another side-effect of this is often providers will monitor/potentially flag your custom built mail server if the volume gets too high as well. The reason moving to some kind of AWS/Azure/etc hosting won't solve the issue 100% is that blacklists, "trust" lists, etc are often built on IP ranges.Įdit: As an example, it's super easy to get some free/starter credit on Azure or a VPS provider, that gives you 30 days of spamming to your hearts content if you're a spammer. If the wrong emails get flagged, that will end up costing the company a LOT more in the long run than the liceses for 365 Business Basic.Ĭompanies WILL go to your competitors after a few too many "oh company X's emails got blacklisted again" because it is unprofessional as hell. You pay with inconveniences like often ending up on blacklists. You either pay with money by going to M365 or GSuite. ![]()
